All ABOUT TS

My name is Tom Stanton, I own TS Skyboards. I wanted to give you some history and insight into TS, so I will start by telling you something about myself. I am a lifetime surfer and master surfboard designer/shaper and have shaped over 10,000 surfboards in the last 30 years. I have shaped and worked with some of the top surfers in the world, surfers like Sunny Garcia, Brad Gerlach, Cheyne Horan, Jamie Brisik, Ted Robinson, Jeff Novak, Mike Benavidez, Chris Barrilla, Nick Brown and many more. I have worked with Dewey Weber Surfboards, Xanadu, BYB, Lost, Rip Curl, Ukulele, EK Designs, Surf Concepts, Beach Break Surf and others as well as my own line of TS Surfboards. I am currently living in Oceanside, California and shaping for Ezera Surfboards of San Diego.

I got involved in building skyboards when in the Fall of 95 my friend Jim Harris introduced me to his brother, Rob Harris ... skysurfings champion of the world. Rob was frustrated with the company he was with because of their inability to build and deliver what he wanted, Rob had ideas and needed someone that could put those ideas into reality. Fluid Dynamics and Aerodynamics are very closely related so it was easy to make the transition from water to air. The ideas came fast and furious as we worked together on board design and construction ideas, prototypes were built and flown.
I then worked closely with engineers at one of the largest Aerospace company's in the world. From the Stealth Bomber to Helicopter rotor blades this company is on the cutting edge composite technology and innovations. I learned new construction techniques which would allow me to have total control over the shape and design of the board producing the lightest, stiffest and strongest skyboards ever made. Troy Hartman flew a board using this new technology who went on to win the Gold at the 97 X-Games.
Not long after Troy's win I got a call from Oliver Furrer. Oliver and I had talked many time's in the past about skyboard design, and with the knowledge I had gained through my own experience and Olivers flying ability, plus working hands on with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, it was very clear that we were both really on to something! I continued working and fine tuning my boards until now I can say without a doubt that TS Skyboards are simply the best in the world, nothing else even comes close. Then at the 2006 World Meet in Gera Germany, Oliver Furrer won the Gold on his newest and most advanced TS! And that same board you can have made for you.
I do all the work myself at TS, I do everything from the design layout and shaping to the graphics and finish work. No production molds or inventory of stock boards laying around, each and every board is hand made to order. I can give you what no one else can, build you a custom hand shaped board to your exact specifications including your own custom graphics, using the most advanced materials and building techniques available.
